We believe natural food should be accessible for every pet. We own our own factories so we can guarantee what goes into our food and how its made. It also helps to keep costs down, so everyone can benefit.
Environment

Being sustainable is essential for us as a business. We generate our own electricity, and manage our water usage carefully, we source locally and reduce plastic wherever we can.
Community

We love giving back – getting involved with rescue centres, fire dogs, pet therapy animals and mountain rescue dogs.

At Harringtons we’re on a mission to make natural food the natural choice for every pet. It’s food that’s full of tasty natural goodness, food that’s packed with vitamins and minerals, food that’s healthy, balanced and tasty. Locally sourced and free from artificial nasties, it’s nourishing food that’s made by us in our own factories - natural food for all pets.

That's Harringtons

Great Grandfather Harrington started a milling business in Yorkshire, England. From milling, we became animal feed manufacturers before starting pet food manufacturing in the mid-1980’s.

Three generations later, Harringtons retain a proud family tradition of producing top quality, wholesome pet food for everyone – from locally sourced and grown ingredients and free from any artificial flavours or colours.

Great Grandfather Harrington starts an animal feeding mill in Tadcaster.

1923

Harringtons launches as a premium range in single polymer, compostable bags in just two flavours.

2008

Harringtons launches in ASDA and then Tesco.

2008

We develop our oven baked semi-moist treats.

2010

Harringtons Cat, Guinea Pig and Bunny range launches.

2012

We commission a CHP plant to produce our own electricity.

2013

Harringtons wet food trays introduced.

2015

Partnership with Peter Wright began. We buy our Welsh manufacturing plant.

2016

Began to manufacture our wet food ourselves. Full pack redeisgn.

2017

Grain-Free range launches. Introduce our unique Fresh Cook process.

2018

Achieve Carbon Negative status. Began our Miles and Meals initiative. Just 6 voted Product of the Year. Introduce our new Dry Cat Range.

2020

Pledge to plant 1 million trees.

2021

Launch our Advance Science Diet range. Donate 3.5 million meals to pet shelters across the UK. Full relaunch and recipe upgrade.

Combined heat and power plant to convert gas to electricity, heat and steam, reducing carbon emissions.
A modern, low-waste, purpose-built factory, equipped with energy efficient manufacturing and packaging systems.

We Put Pets First

For Harringtons, all pets are family. That means we give our support to great animal causes whenever we can. We like to get involved - with our advice and guidance as well as well as donating delicious foods to pets in need.

CHECK OUT WHO WE HAVE WORKED WITH

Wallace Kennels is a small family-run Dog Rescue charity we support through our Miles to Meals programme. They get to know every dog that comes through their door and work hard to find them a forever home, however long it takes.
